Joyce Agbozo

Joyce is a Ghanaian-born and raised young lady, currently fostering her career transition journey through her MBA program at Darden. Her interest in showcasing the Ghanaian culture and the African continent in her diverse academic and professional environment informed her decision to be dutiful to the Darden African Association.  

She has 5 years of experience working in Ghana’s investment banking space. She worked in Ghana’s premier investment bank, starting as a Corporate Finance Trainee and rising to the Senior Corporate Finance analyst role. Her experience supporting over 50% of listed corporate institutions on Ghana’s Fixed Income Market to raise funding for their businesses enriched her career experience. Given her experience, she seeks to groom and learn alongside young talent who are intrigued about finance and investment banking.  

Before pursuing her MBA at the University of Virginia (UVA) Darden Business School, she studied for her undergraduate degree at the University of Ghana Business School where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration as an accounting major. Passing her CFA level 1 examination and completing a securitization course with the University of Cape Town are among the several licensing and professional certificate examinations she has taken. Additionally, she is a proud Akora of Achimota High School in Accra, Ghana.  

In her leisure time, she loves to dance kizomba and afro dances, listen to an assortment of music genres, and travel usually via road trips. She is currently exploring new hobbies and taking salsa lessons with the UVA salsa club.
